We Will NOT Sign I-1929, Tax Cut For The Super Rich

  • Look at who is paying for I-1929. A handful of super-rich interests who want to cut taxes for themselves and make the rest of us pay.
  • Just a few people - fewer than 2 in 10,000 - will see big enough profits to trigger the capital gains tax. This is a tax cut for the very rich.
  • The WA capital gains tax does not apply to retirement accounts, real estate, farms, or small business sales. It only applies to huge stock profits bigger than $250,000.

Some of Washington’s super rich want to give themselves a huge tax cut, and make the rest of us pay.

To give themselves a tax cut, they want to take $500 million a year from Washington's Education Legacy Trust Account, which pays for:

  • education, including safety and other repairs for Washington’s aging schools

  • creating more preschools and childcares so parents can get back to work

  • workforce training like carpentry and culinary skills

  • helping hundreds of thousands students, including those with disabilities

    • Sign now and pledge that you will decline to sign I-1929. Together, we won’t let a few super rich people rig the tax system for themselves, making the rest of us pay for it.
