Learn More about I-645 on Washington’s November Ballot
A mega-millionaire is bankrolling I-645 to give himself a tax cut by repealing Washington’s Millionaires Tax.
Initiative 645 (IP26-645) would blow a massive $13 billion hole in our state budget, resulting in devastating cuts to K-12 education, healthcare, human services, and higher education.
We're already struggling with overcrowded classrooms, higher tuition and fees, housing affordability, and skyrocketing healthcare costs. I-645 would make things even worse.
I-645 will hurt 99.5% of Washingtonians by effectively:
Raising B&O taxes on small businesses
Cutting billions from education, healthcare, childcare, and other essential services
Putting more tax pressure on regular Washingtonians to make up the difference
Raising sales taxes for over-the-counter medicine, diapers, hygiene, and grooming products, costing families hundreds of dollars
Taking away the newly added free school meals for Washington students
Cutting the Working Families Tax Credit, which puts cash in the pockets of more than 810,000 low and middle income people.
I-645 only helps mega-millionaires:
It cuts taxes only for those with earnings over $1 million.
It doesn’t help 99% of Washingtonians. Only 22,000 (less than 1%) of the wealthiest Washingtonians make enough to be subject to the Millionaires Tax.
