The White House and Congress have put our Governor in a tough spot. But there’s so much wealth in Washington, it doesn’t have to be this way. A new Seattle Times report shows some Washington CEOs are taking home record-breaking compensation packages of over $100 million a year.
A cuts-only approach means even more pressure on the systems we all rely on, — healthcare, childcare, and education — all while this Administration’s “Big Ugly Bill” slashes federal funding to those same services while giving billions in tax cuts to the richest Washingtonians and big corporations.
Lawmakers made progress last year, avoiding drastic cuts by passing or expanding progressive revenue. Tell them they should keep going!
