Millionaires Tax Resources

Washington wins with the new Millionaires Tax!

The Millionaires Tax is a big step forward for tax justice in Washington. By taxing annual income over $1 million by just 9%, the estimated $3 billion/year in revenue from this tax will lower costs for working families, and ensure we can pay for important programs that we all depend on like education, health care, childcare, and more.

The Millionaires Tax will increase funding for education, expand Working Families Tax Credit eligibility, eliminate sales tax on hygiene products, over-the-counter medications, diapers, and more, increase funding for high-quality child care, provide free breakfast and lunch for all K-12 students, reduce the tax burden on small businesses, and increase funding for Medicaid, Medicare, and rural hospitals.

Less than 1% of Washingtonians will pay the Millionaires Tax - and all of us will see tangible benefits in our daily lives. Together, we’re funding our future and creating a state where everyone has the tools to build a good life.
