Heywood tried to hide the true impacts of this initiative from voters, but lost. He wanted to cover up that I-645’s tax cut for himself and his buddies would result in taking away $13 billion in funding for education and child care, and eliminate free school meals for many K-12 students. Losing the revenue from the millionaires tax would also cause healthcare costs to go up (even more than they already are), increase taxes on working families and small businesses, and take away tax rebates for working families.
