We’re coming together to tell lawmakers: fund healthcare, education and other necessities families need SB 6346, the Millioniares Tax.

Washington’s tax structure is the second most regressive in the country — meaning it asks the most of those who can least afford it. That’s why almost every year Washington faces a budget shortfall and legislators have to consider cuts that would harm WA familiess, people who are already struggling to make ends meet.

This year state is facing a $2.3 billion budget shortfall caused by Trump’s tariffs, billionaire tax breaks, and cuts to health care, education, food assistance, and more

We need new revenue sources instead.

SB 6346, the Millionaires Tax, would raise nearly $3.5 billion in annual revenue by taxing just mega-millionaires and billionaires a modest 9.9% on annual income over $1 million.

Billionaires, and their friends in the White House and Congress, are forcing many of us to choose between groceries and health coverage, and putting more economic pressure on small businesses. Deep federal cuts have impacted health care, food assistance, and other basic needs.

Why? To fund trillions in tax cuts for those who need it least - the mega-rich.

Legislators must find new revenue sources, like a Millionaires Tax, to fund core programs that Washingtonians rely on and to make our tax code more equitable and sustainable.

The Millionaires Tax would:

  • Tax annual earnings over $1 million at 9.9%

  • Raise nearly $3.5 billion per year

  • Apply to only 20,000 (0.2%), the wealthiest in Washington

A Millionaires Tax can fund education, healthcare, and other basic needs while making our upside-down tax code more equitable.
